What is WIC?
The Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program is a federally-funded health and nutrition program.
Who can WIC help?
The WIC program is for all kinds of families: married and single parents, working or not working. If you are a father, mother, grandparent, foster parent or other legal guardian of a child under the age of five and fall under any of the categories below, you can apply for WIC.
- Pregnant woman (starting at the first trimester)
- New mom
- Breastfeeding and bottle-feeding moms
- Children under 5 years of age
- Infant
- Migrant families
- Military families
How can WIC help me?
At no cost, WIC provides you and your family with education, food, and resources.
Nutrition Education
- Nutrition and health assessments
- Educational material and cookbooks to get you and your family eating healthy
Breastfeeding Support
- Lactation support
- Breast pump loans
- Breastfeeding peer counseling support
Groceries
- Offers healthy foods such as:
- Fruits & vegetables
- Whole grains
- Baby food
- Milk and much more!
Community Resources
- Referrals to doctors, dentists, and other community agencies and programs
